Our Commitment to the Future
At Northwest Framing, sustainability is part of who we are. As a locally owned framing company serving Seattle and Portland, we take pride in handcrafting every frame responsibly. Our eco-friendly practices include using recyclable packaging, sustainably sourced wood, and energy-efficient production methods. Environmental stewardship isn’t just a value—it’s a Northwest tradition we live by.
As part of our ongoing sustainability initiatives, Northwest Framing partners with organizations like American Forests to protect and restore vital ecosystems. Through reforestation efforts across the U.S., trees are planted in critical wildland areas to help combat climate change and expand green spaces—reflecting our deep connection to the Pacific Northwest environment.
Sustainable Sourcing
In our supplier and sourcing decisions we factor in the environmental impact.
Over 75% of all our products are sourced domestically. We feature North American soft and hard woods and environmentally friendly woods. All our wood moulding suppliers source wood from Managed Forests and do not use endangered species.
100% of our matboard, glazing, mounting board products and aluminum frames are sourced within the US and we offer FSC certified paper and mat boards.
REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE.
From our frame shops in Seattle and Portland to our Portland production facility, sustainability guides every step. We recycle or repurpose materials like cardboard, aluminum, matboard remnants, and foam wrap—reducing waste and keeping usable materials in circulation as long as possible.
Our Stores
Each Northwest Framing store participates in this initiative, helping ensure that what we create today supports a greener tomorrow.
Our Production Facility
Our Portland, Oregon production facility partners with environmentally responsible organizations to ensure proper recycling of materials like metal, acrylic, and electronics. We continuously evaluate new ways to minimize waste and reduce our energy use, reflecting our long-term commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship rooted in the Pacific Northwest.
