Art Services

Do you offer art restoration?

We do not perform restoration in house, but we can often refer clients to trusted local restoration specialists.

The pastel artist did not use a fixative. Is that something you can do?

We do not offer fixative application, as it may change the color or appearance of pastels. We recommend working directly with the artist. If restoration support is needed, we can recommend specialists.

Framing Services

What is the custom framing process like?

Every project starts with a design consultation based on your needs, artwork, style, and budget. After the design is selected, materials are ordered from our Portland, OR production facility. Once components are ready, your project is completed in store and we contact you for pickup. Learn More

What is the smallest and largest size you can frame?

We can frame very small items, such as jewelry or stamps, as well as very large artwork. The smallest frame we cut in house is 6″ x 6″. Maximum sizes depend on the materials and structural requirements of the project.

Do you frame diplomas? Do you have readymade diploma frames?

Yes. We frame diplomas and often carry readymade diploma frames. Custom options are also available for special sizes, styles, or designs.

Do you offer photography-sized frames?

Yes. We carry standard photo frame sizes such as 4″ x 6″, 5″ x 7″, and 8″ x 10″, as well as readymade sizes including 8″ x 10″, 11″ x 14″, 16″ x 20″, 18″ x 24″, 22″ x 28″, and 24″ x 36″. We also create custom frames for non-standard dimensions.

Do you carry plastic frames?

Most of our custom frame options are made from real wood or metal. We also offer high-quality special-order acrylic frames in both custom and photo frame options.

Do you offer frameless frames?

We offer minimal, modern display options such as float mounting and float frames, which can help achieve a frameless look.

Can you cut down my frame and matting and reuse the material?

In some cases, yes. Feasibility depends on the frame material, construction, condition, and final size needed.

Do you stretch canvas or frame 3D objects, jerseys, needlepoint, or military items?

Yes. We specialize in custom solutions including canvas stretching, textile framing, jerseys, military items, memorabilia, and shadowboxes.

Can you make this custom frame while I wait?

Most custom framing is not same-day. However, Macadam Frame Central, Wallingford Frame Central, Bethany Frame Central, and Capitol Hill Frame Central have saws on site and may be able to complete certain projects depending on the day’s workload.

Can you fit this readymade frame while I wait?

Possibly. This depends on the store’s workload and available inventory. If you need something same day, we recommend calling ahead to confirm whether it is feasible within your timeframe.

Glazing Services

Do your readymade frames use glass or acrylic?

All of our readymade frames include glass. We also offer an upgrade to UV-filtering glass when additional protection is needed.

Do you do oval frames with bubble glass?

Yes. Oval frames and specialty glass, including convex or bubble glass, may be available by special order.

Do you frame mirrors?

Yes. We frame existing mirrors and can also create custom-framed mirrors depending on size and design needs.

Can you cut down my mirror?

Possibly. Mirror cutting depends on the mirror’s thickness, condition, and final size. Not all mirrors can be safely resized, so we assess this case by case.

Matting Services

Can you cut a mat for an existing frame?

Yes. We can often cut a new mat to fit an existing frame as long as the frame is structurally sound and the dimensions allow for proper overlap and support.

Can you replace just the top mat and keep the bottom mat?

This is not recommended. When mat layers are cut at different times, they may not align perfectly. For the best result, multiple mat layers should be cut together on the same machine or cutter.

Do you have mats on hand that can be cut while I wait?

Many locations keep a selection of mat board in stock and may be able to offer quick mat cutting depending on workload, size, and color needed.

Other

Do you sell photo albums?

No. We do not currently carry photo albums.

Policies

Do you allow DIY framing?

For preservation and quality reasons, we focus on professional framing services rather than DIY assembly.

Pricing

How much does custom framing cost?

Design consultations are free. Final pricing depends on the size of the piece, materials selected, and how the artwork or object is framed.

Is custom framing expensive?

Cost depends on the materials, size, and complexity of the project. Our goal is to offer a wide variety of framing options so we can work with both lower and higher budgets.

How do your prices compare to big-box stores?

Our pricing reflects custom design, high-quality materials, expert craftsmanship, a lifetime workmanship guarantee, and a 30-day design guarantee. We offer many frame and material options that may not be available at big-box retailers, and our prices are competitive with other custom frame shops.
