Dynamic Color & Eclectic Collections

Raleigh Hills customer shares his love of art

By Jennifer Parsons

“I have had over 50 art pieces of my photography, prints, and original pieces of art framed with at Raleigh Hills Beard’s,” Max Klare, said.

Max discovered Beard’s Framing in the 1970’s. After moving away from Oregon and then returning, he wanted to resume framing at Beard’s due to their selection and customer service. “The staff at Raleigh Hills designed and framed many pieces for me,” Max said. “They pull frames and mats out and we have fun talking about styles and ideas.” The designers see colors in my art that I don’t see and I’m a photographer, so I’m always excited about what they suggest. I walk out with great things I never would have thought of.”

“I love circuses and clowns, because of their dynamic colors and lively activity. I enjoy Georges Pierre Seurat, a French post-Impressionist artist. He painted a circus scene that I am emotionally affected by because the audience in the painting is laughing, having fun and lost in their moment,” Max shared.

I have an incredible mix of frames and an eclectic style,” Max said. “I enjoy realism more than abstract pieces. I want to be able to recognize the subject matter in my art pieces. The designers at Raleigh Hills help me choose the perfect frame each time.”

“My green boat painting from Portugal is my favorite in my collection because of the color, I knew the artist and it’s a meaningful piece to me because of my love of boats and from being from the fishing industry.

“Raleigh Hills reframed it for me and now it’s just as it should be.” Max explained that he’s an art for art’s sake person and if he loves an art piece, he loves it and doesn’t worry if it matches his furniture or home esthetic. “When we get art that is important to us, we should enjoy and protect it. Raleigh Hills Beard’s has the right mats and glass to frame and protect what I love and bring out the beauty of the art.” “My continued return to the Raleigh Hills shop is due to these reasons and of course their huge variety of frames that I don’t see anywhere else,” Max said. “It’s also fun to work with staff who I have a great relationship with.”
