Trust Your Art to Artisans

Handcrafted picture framesPicture framing is one of the oldest crafts in the world, and many of our colleagues enjoy the opportunity it provides to work creatively. Most of the people working here at Northwest Framing are artists, photographers or craftspeople in their own right.

This creativity inspires beautiful frame designs and artisanal quality framing at all our shops.

Unlike a frame made by the thousands on an assembly line, yours will be handcrafted by folks who care deeply about the best way to showcase your art or memorabilia. Whether it’s sewing down a tapestry, wrapping a frame in silk, or finding the perfect shade of mat to complement the colors in a screenprint, framing art can be as creative as the art itself. And often the results are truly magical!

This frame, by colleagues at our Queen Anne store, was built using wood salvaged from windows of the customer’s Craftsman home.

This holiday season, we’re featuring the art of one of our artistic colleagues, Autumn Kegley.

Autumn Kegley was born in rural Alaska, and was raised there and in the greater Seattle area. She received her B.F.A. from Columbus College of Art & Design in 1998 and has worked as a freelance artist and picture framer since that time. She has owned her own frame shop, and you can currently find her at Frame Central in Seattleā€™s Wallingford neighborhood.

Autumn paints landscapes as well as fantasy work – mainly watercolor, oil and printmaking mediums.

Along with Autumn, some of our talented colleagues have sent in recent work showcasing their photography and painting skills as well as craftsmanship.

Whether you want to frame your child’s drawing or a limited edition print, trust it to an artisan! You’ll find one at a Beard’s, Frame Central or Museum Quality Framing shop.
