Decorating for Fall

Autumn arrives late in the Pacific Northwest. Here in Portland we’re enjoying bright sun in the high 70s to mid 80s this week. But when autumn arrives it is always spectacular, with that crisp snap in the air and the romance of falling leaves. And that “PSL” good feeling can last well into Thanksgiving.

Here’s some ideas to enjoy the season of cozy.

Cacti + Pumpkins – Brilliant!

“When decorating for fall, it is best to get the most bang for your buck and pick one look that will carry you through the tailgate, Halloween, and Thanksgiving seasons. There’s no need to be too holiday specific.”

Mercury glass pumpkins
Find these for sale everywhere from Grandin Road to Amazon. Arrange them with twinkle lights to bring out the sparkle in the mercury glass.

Decorate with rich color & texture

Add plaid or velvet pillows or a throw for a bit of seasonality.
